    Schwab Technology Services (STS) enables the future of how clients manage their money through innovative and reliable technology solutions that support Schwab's mission to democratize access to investing and financial planning. Within Advisor Services, the Move Money platform is a critical capability that allows Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs) to securely transfer client funds and securities across accounts and financial institutions through streamlined digital experiences.

    As a Software Development & Engineering Senior, you will play a key role in advancing a platform that directly impacts advisor productivity, client experience, operational efficiency, and risk management. You will partner closely with product owners, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to translate complex business needs into scalable technology solutions that support ACH transactions, wire transfers, internal transfers, check processing, and related financial workflows. This role offers the opportunity to influence technical direction, drive innovation, and solve complex engineering challenges while delivering secure, resilient, and high-quality software solutions.

    Success in this role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership, and collaboration. You will contribute hands-on development while serving as a technical leader within the team, guiding solution design, leading code reviews, mentoring engineers, and promoting engineering excellence. You will leverage modern software engineering practices, agile delivery methodologies, AI-enabled development tools, test automation frameworks, and cloud-based principles to accelerate delivery and improve software quality. Additionally, you will proactively identify technology risks, support production resilience, and help develop secure, scalable systems that improve reliability and minimize client impact.

    What you have

    Required Qualifications

    • 8+ years of software development and engineering experience designing, building, and supporting enterprise-scale applications.
    • Demonstrated experience designing and optimizing software development processes that improve quality, reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
    • Strong experience collaborating with product owners, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to define requirements, prioritize work, and deliver business outcomes.
    • Experience leading technical delivery efforts within an Agile environment, including solution design, estimation, feature decomposition, and delivery planning.
    • Proven ability to conduct code reviews, mentor engineers, and promote engineering best practices across a development team.
    • Experience developing secure, resilient, and highly available applications with a focus on operational stability and regulatory compliance.
    • Strong understanding of incident management, production support, root cause analysis, and technology risk mitigation.
    • Experience establishing or improving quality assurance practices, automated testing approaches, and test-driven development methodologies.
    • Experience designing and supporting data integration processes, application integrations, and software delivery pipelines.
    • Experience leveraging AI-powered developer tools, including GitHub Copilot and other AI-assisted development technologies, to improve development productivity, code quality, and delivery velocity.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to navigate complex technical challenges

    Required Technical Qualifications

    • Advanced experience in C# / .NET application and service development, typically built through 8-10+ years of hands-on engineering experience
    • Experience building JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React, etc...)
    • Proven ability to develop RESTful APIs and backend services for high-volume, transaction-oriented platforms
    • Experience using AI-powered development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to improve engineering productivity
    • Experience building and supporting systems with high availability, fault tolerance, and observability
    • Hands-on experience with debugging complex production issues including incident triage and root cause analysis
    • Experience with distributed multi-tier applications, OAuth security, RDBMs DB
    • Experience with CI/CD pipelines like GitHub and automated deployment processes
    • Ability to support the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) from design through production
    • Experience with message brokers like RabbitMQ
    • Experience with cloud technologies such as PCF /GCP.
    • Experience with Event Driven Architecture, Distributed systems

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience working within financial services, wealth management, banking, payments, or money movement platforms.
    • Experience building AI-augmented engineering workflows that improve automation, validation, quality, and operational efficiency.
    • Demonstrated ability to influence technical strategy and drive initiatives across multiple teams and stakeholder groups.
    • Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives while balancing competing priorities and business objectives.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to diverse audiences.
    • Experience establishing engineering standards, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and championing innovation.
    • Experience leveraging cloud-native principles and modern software architecture patterns in enterprise environments.
    • Proven ability to develop strategic insights from complex business and technical information to support decision-making.

    In addition to the salary range, this role is eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
