Position: Senior Formulation Technician
Location: Sunnyvale CA 94085
Duration: 12 Months

Shift: Monday To Friday From 06:00 AM To 02:30 PM

Summary
This role works in a team-based manufacturing laboratory environment focused on packing and testing ion exchange media used in chromatography consumables. The position performs routine and complex production testing, documents results, analyzes data, follows quality and safety standards, and supports continuous improvement. The role requires laboratory experience, attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to work independently while meeting production schedules.
Responsibilities
  • Test and qualify resin products using specialized laboratory instruments.
  • Record, document, and report test results accurately.
  • Complete complex production work orders according to established procedures.
  • Analyze test data, draw conclusions, and prepare reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Follow ISO 9001, GMP, QSR, and IVD requirements.
  • Follow EH&S procedures and participate in safety improvement activities.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
  • Follow SOPs and verbal/written instructions.
  • Prioritize tasks according to production schedules.
  • Use hand tools such as wrenches, torque drivers, and tweezers.
  • Apply Lean manufacturing and PPI continuous improvement methods.
  • Perform work independently with assistance when needed.
  • Meet established deadlines, production targets, and quality requirements.
Required Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Biotechnology preferred.
  • Hands-on Chemistry laboratory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Understanding of ISO, QSR, and IVD regulations.
  • Knowledge of chromatography software is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; PowerPoint preferred.
  • Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to read and follow SOPs and verbal instructions in English.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and punctuality.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, reach, and handle laboratory materials for extended periods.
  • Ability to work safely around chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, and laboratory equipment.
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including lab coat, safety glasses, gloves, and safety shoes.
