Senior Fire and Security Systems Technician

Pay Range: $25.00hr - $30.00hr

Job Overview:

Under limited supervision, the candidate possesses complete technical competence on all fire and security systems and the ability to resolve or guide others through complex problem resolution. The candidate is responsible for programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of fire and security systems per contract obligations. The successful candidate provides detailed information to communicate design to customers, installation or service teams, and subcontractors.

Responsibilities:

• Provide solutions to systems problems by troubleshooting the system or advising others on how to resolve problems.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of core and third-party security, fire, and other related low voltage system products, software, systems, IT networks, and electrical technology.
• Configure security and fire systems utilizing both core and third-party products, software, and networks as defined by service agreements or project specifications while ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Order material from both internal sources and external vendors, expediting as necessary to ensure timely delivery to appropriate locations.
• Complete all required service requests and commissioning documentation accurately per service or installation contracts.
• Assist engineering and sales teams by providing technical recommendations for job layouts and bid proposals.
• Perform site-specific training for owners and operators on systems serviced or installed.
• Adhere to safety standards and local and national codes with a high degree of regard for employee and subcontractor safety, including performing daily pre-job checklists.
• Maintain appropriate local and National Fire and Security Industry Certifications.
• Communicate with customers upon arrival and before leaving the work site, maintaining proactive interactions to understand customer needs and systems.
• Plan for future customer needs by recommending system enhancements and promoting the sale of add-on work.
• Assist in monitoring service and project execution per plan, reporting problems or changes to sales and management.
• Create and present field proposals for small projects and labor and material.
• Serve as a technical resource for the Security and Fire Team, assisting sales in development of cost estimates on complex projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned and remain available for on-call requirements as needed.
• Work irregular hours outside of normal day shifts when required to accommodate business and customer requirements.
