Job Description

We are looking for a highly organized, execution-focused finance professional to help drive financial rigor, budget governance, and continuous improvement across our growing Cybersecurity & Digital Risk Management (CDRM) organization. This hybrid role is ideally based in Reston, VA or Houston, TX. You will be a central point of accountability for financial operations across a portfolio of programs, strategic partners, and delivery engagements - ensuring spend is tracked accurately, commitments are managed through disciplined budget and vendor cost control, risks to the plan are identified early, and our leaders have clear visibility into financial performance, forecast, and outcomes.

You will work closely with CDRM leaders, business stakeholders, Finance, and Procurement to set clear expectations, monitor spend, unblock issues, and continuously improve how we plan and manage our budget. If you like bringing order to complexity and holding numbers - and people - to their word while helping them succeed, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

Govern the Budget

* Set up and run the cadences and frameworks that keep CDRM spend, forecasts, and program budgets accountable.

* Ensure clear ownership, decision-making, and escalation paths are defined and maintained for financial commitments.

* Drive transparency and consistency in how budget and actuals are tracked and reported across the organization.

Manage Financial Performance

* Define, monitor, and report on budget vs. actuals, forecast accuracy, accruals, and key financial metrics.

* Identify emerging cost risks, variances, and funding gaps before they impact the plan.

* Track program and vendor spend against approved SOWs, purchase orders, and contracted outcomes; drive corrective action when spend falls outside plan.

Be the Trusted Point of Contact

* Build trusted relationships with senior CDRM leaders, Finance business partners, Procurement, and delivery partners.

* Be the go-to person for financial questions on the programs and vendor engagements you support.

* Turn financial detail into clear, straight-talking updates leaders can act on.

Execute and Deliver

* Partner with Procurement and Finance to process purchase requisitions, POs, invoices, and accruals accurately and on time.

* Support the annual budget cycle, long-term planning (LTP), quarterly forecasts, and funding requests.

* Consolidate spend data to support decisions, optimize allocation, and improve forecast quality.

* Manage the financial risks, issues, and dependencies across a portfolio of initiatives and reporting deadlines.

Education and Experience

* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

* Typically 6-10 years of experience in financial planning & analysis, business operations, or program finance, ideally supporting a technology, IT, or cybersecurity function.

* Proven track record managing budgets, forecasts, vendor/SOW spend, and PO/invoice lifecycles in a large, matrixed organization.

Knowledge and Skills

* Strong command of budgeting, forecasting, accruals, and variance analysis.

* Advanced Excel; comfort with financial systems (e.g., SAP, Ariba) and reporting/BI tools (e.g., Power BI).

* Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a track record of bringing order to complexity.

* Excellent stakeholder management - able to hold partners to commitments while helping them succeed.

* Clear, concise communicator who can translate financial detail into executive-ready insight.
