Description

We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A in our Broomfield, CO, location.

The Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A, will be the finance business partner to our corporate and commercial functions, and the analyst who owns our product-line financial picture - revenue, direct cost and margin by line, and the analysis that explains what is moving and why.

It is a broad seat with real ownership from the start. You will run your own monthly budget reviews with function leaders and own their forecasts, working across corporate spend, product margin and the annual planning cycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business partnering for our corporate and commercial functions. You will run the monthly budget review with each function leader, own their forecast, and be the person they call when they need to understand their numbers.

  • Product-line financial coverage - revenue, direct cost, and margin by product line, and the analysis behind what is driving each of them.

  • Core financial reporting - the monthly reporting package, headcount tracking and reconciliation, consolidation of the cash flow forecast, and input into our executive and quarterly reporting.

  • Annual planning - consolidating functional submissions into the plan, keeping versions straight through the iterations, and producing the materials the plan is reviewed from.

  • Process ownership - documenting how our planning and reporting processes run and improving them where you see the opportunity.

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Bachelor's Degree minimum

  • Minimum 3+ years of finance experience, including direct budget or forecast ownership for a business area or function

  • Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status.

  • Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.

WE VALUE:

  • Judgment about what matters. Plenty of things move in a month and only a few are worth a leader's time. We value people who can tell the difference, lead with it, and say plainly what they do not yet know.

  • Self-direction. When an answer is not available and nobody is chasing you, you go and find it. The problems worth solving here rarely resolve themselves, and follow-through is most of the difference between good and excellent in this seat.

  • Comfort in the room. You will sit across from function leaders and executives on your own, and be expected to hold a point of view. That takes judgment and preparation rather than seniority.

  • Systems fluency. Strong Excel is a given. Beyond that we care more about how quickly you pick up a new system than which ones you have used before. Experience with Workday Adaptive Planning, an ERP such as SAP, or a BI tool such as Power BI is a plus. We are rebuilding much of our planning architecture and want someone who wants a hand in it.

  • Adaptability. A company at our stage moves quickly and priorities shift as the business learns. We value people who can carry several things at once and keep them all moving.

  • Curiosity about the technology. You do not need a physics background. You do need to want to understand what our scientists and engineers are building, because partnering well with a technical organization means being genuinely interested in what it does.

$106,000 - $132,000 a year

Compensation & Benefits:

The pay range for this role is $106,000 - $132,000 annually. Actual compensation within this range may vary based on the candidate's skills, educational background, professional experience, and unique qualifications for the role.
