Looking to amplify your impact to the business? BlackLine is seeking an agile and technically strong Finance Business Partner to partner with our Product and Engineering teams to execute on finance operations, drive automation, and innovate on our finance practices, helping our partners make strategic and informed business decisions. In this role, you will have the ability to influence management decisions, drive decision through data, and challenge the status quo as BlackLine continues to scale for growth. You will also become the resident finance expert on our product and technology portfolio. This role is hybrid in our California offices in Pleasanton. 

You'll Get To::
  • ​Effectively monitor, support and track headcount in conjunction with business partners and talent acquisition 
  • ​Partner with product and engineering leaders to create annual operating budgets, regular forecasts, and long-term strategic operating plans 
  • ​Develop, prepare, and present reporting packages and presentation materials to Product and Engineering Leadership - Monthly Reporting Packages, Quarterly Business Reviews, and Executive/Board level presentations 
  • ​Deliver insightful analysis and reporting on product performance, profitability trends, and variance drivers to the executive team and product leadership. 
  • ​Partner with corporate FP&A and accounting to ensure the accuracy and integrity of product-line financial statements and to enhance reporting granularity. 
  • ​Serve as the primary finance lead for the product roadmap, guiding the financial evaluation and business case development for all major new products, features, and R&D initiatives. 
  • ​Develop and manage a robust capital allocation framework to help leadership prioritize a complex portfolio of investments, balancing between near-term ROI and long-term strategic value. 
  • ​Develop and use data analytics to drive business decisions with large data sets 
  • ​Turn business concepts into effective driver -based models used for decision making 
  • ​Participate in system enhancement projects to allow company to scale​ 
What You'll Bring::
  • Years of Experience in Related Field: 

    • 10+ years of proven experience in  FP&A, FinOps, sales operations, finance, accounting, consulting, or related business function 
    • 6+ years experience in business partnership, preferably as a finance business partner, FinOps or sales operations, supporting software R&D or cloud functions 

    Technical/Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  

    • Strong technical, analytical, communication, and influencing skills 
    • Strong modeling skills using large sets of data to model complex concepts 
    • Excellent modeling skills used to translate business metrics to financial measures 
    • Finance system proficiency, Adaptive a plus 
    • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, math, or other analytical field

  • ​Experience with full P&L modeling including allocation methodology analysis and support 
  • ​Direct experience serving as a finance partner to senior Product Management and Engineering leaders. 
  • ​Proven ability to present complex financial information and strategic recommendations to senior executives (VP, SVP, C-level). 
  • ​Strong analytical skills with experience querying and synthesizing large datasets from multiple sources (e.g., financial systems, product telemetry, cloud billing). SQL proficiency is highly desirable. 
  • ​Experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker) and financial planning systems (e.g., Hyperion, Anaplan).

Salary Range:: USD $175,000.00/Yr. - USD $219,000.00/Yr.
