Overview
The Central Finance Team directly supports various Corporate Services, including Microsoft's Corporate, External, and Legal Affairs (CELA) organization. This team provides reporting and analysis to inform financial and business decisions, supports litigation matters, and ensures compliance with regulatory entities.
We are seeking a Senior Finance Manager, Legal and Compliance, to lead critical financial discovery projects for CELA. This role brings a combination of financial reporting, data analytics, project management, and research skills to provide our business partners with critical information. Precision, accuracy, and timeliness are crucial, as the reporting will be used for regulatory and compliance purposes.
Ideally, you excel in performing detailed research and reporting from large datasets, as well as leverage extensive attention to detail and a willingness to learn complex reporting criteria to meet business needs. Having the drive to understand project requirements and execute them on tight timelines is key. Responsibilities
- Conducting deep financial research and analysis, including diving into archived or historical financial information, and stitching together disconnected data sources when necessary.
- Following prescribed processes meticulously and ensuring data custody is tightly controlled.
- Enhancing team efficiency and effectiveness through improved reporting, automation, process excellence, and detailed analytics, including using the latest AI (artificial intelligence) tools to scale our ability to respond to stakeholders with accuracy and speed.
- Acting as a trusted advisor to business partners and providing high-quality, concise reporting to meet their needs.
- Partnering with key stakeholders both within and outside of Finance.
- Proactively identifying and solving business problems and issues.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- Masters Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
- Masters Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 6+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience OR Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 8+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance work experience OR equivalent experience.
- 1+ year(s) experience in multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles.
- 1+ year(s) work experience in matrix-based organization.
- 1+ year(s) work experience in the technology or software industry.
- Familiarity with Microsoft financial processes and reporting technologies & systems, such as MS Sales, Mercury, MSRA, etc.
- Ability to use the latest AI tools to increase impact and improve and scale processes.
- Advanced time management, prioritization, and organization skills.
- Solid attention to detail and an ability to perform queries on complex databases.

Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $97,600.00 - $188,400.00 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $125,000.00 - $206,400.00 per year.
