    Description

    Our client, a prominent player in the insurance industry, is actively adding to its underwriting staff and is in search of a Senior E&S Production Underwriter. This position centers on handling both new submissions and renewal business for Commercial Casualty risks within the Excess & Surplus (E&S) space. The individual in this role will partner closely with brokers and agents to expand market presence, oversee existing accounts, and drive profitable results across the Western Pennsylvania / Pittsburgh territories. This opportunity is 100% remote.
     

    Key Responsibilities 

    • Review underwriting data, financials, and risk details to make informed decisions and maintain a balanced portfolio.
    • Cultivate strong partnerships with wholesale brokers and agency contacts through ongoing outreach and relationship management.
    • Play a key role in retaining existing accounts while identifying opportunities to grow the book of business.
    • Deliver on assigned premium goals and maintain underwriting discipline to support profitability in the Pittsburgh market.
    • Stay current on industry dynamics and competitor activity to proactively identify areas for expansion.
     
    Requirements
    • Minimum of 4–10+ years of experience underwriting commercial casualty business, ideally within the E&S or non-admitted market.
    • Proven track record in a production-focused underwriting or territory development role.
    • Ability to evaluate complex exposures and make strategic underwriting decisions.
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain broker relationships.
    • Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
     
    Compensation/Benefits:
    • Competitive base salary ranging from $130,000 - $150,000+ (depending on experience) along with performance-based incentive compensation.
