Job Description
We are seeking a Senior F&O/Margin Operations Specialist to join our team supporting F&O margin operations. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in listed derivatives, collateral management, and stakeholder coordination and a proven ability to manage client margin processes, mitigate risk, and drive strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as key escalation point for the F&O Margin team and primary contact for internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor collateralization requirements from trading activities for counterparties with margin documentation.
- Execute collateral substitutions with counterparties and manage bookings, releases, pledged, and lodged collateral.
- Lead preparation and delivery of strategic planning for the team and participate in industry initiatives.
- Own new product onboarding for margin operations and ensure adherence to internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage risk aspects including audits and key business controls. Drive staff development and appraisals.
Day-to-Day Duties:
- Manage timelines for strategic initiatives and projects.
- Ensure all client margin calls are issued, reconciled, and covered daily. Investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Handle client trade and settlement queries and coordinate resolutions with Front Office, Middle Office, and core processing teams.
- Identify and escalate fails to Credit/Risk Management, Collateral Risk Management, and Operations Management in a timely and accurate manner.
- Request and book FX transactions across the client base as required for collateral movements.
- Maintain comprehensive understanding of bank policies, departmental controls, and procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of financial markets with focus on ETD/F&O margin and collateral processes.
- Ability to face off to senior stakeholders across Sales, Trading, Product Control, Credit, and Legal.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail and control mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, prioritize work, and solve problems analytically.
- Experience implementing and maintaining key business controls within a regulated environment.
- Experience within Financial Services or Banking and team experience of more than two years.
Preferred Skills:
- Degree in finance or related field, or experience in Finance, Risk Management, or Treasury.
- Familiarity with listed futures and options and OTC derivatives lifecycle.
