As a full life cycle recruiter on the GSR Executive Recruiting team, you"ll own senior technical hiring across multiple Steams, partnering directly with VP and Director-level hiring managers to identify and close transformative technology leaders. You"ll have the opportunity to collaborate with talented peers, influence at the most senior levels, and make a meaningful impact on the growth and success of Amazon. You"ll be a vital strategic partner, helping to shape our talent acquisition approach and elevate the candidate experience for some of the most sought-after technology executives in the world.

If you"re passionate about technology leadership, driven to find exceptional executive talent, and eager to work alongside a best-in-class recruiting organization, this is an unparalleled opportunity to grow your career and opportunity for impact.

Critical Success Factors

  • Executive presence and relationship management - you build trust quickly with VP and SVP-level hiring managers, positioning yourself as a credible strategic advisor on talent decisions
  • Research acumen and creativity - you learn new technology domains quickly and understand how to craft effective search strategies across enterprise technology, HR technology, and infrastructure disciplines
  • Superb communication skills - you"re a compelling communicator able to effectively engage the attention of busy, senior executives who are rarely actively looking
  • Able to convey complex arguments (without the luxury of complete data) and engage with CTO/VP-level technologists & executives with conviction and confidence
  • Combine tenacity with tact and high judgment - know when to apply the right pressure and when to move on; executive searches require patience and precision
  • Self-assured, not easily thrown, able to think on your feet - you will be leading complex & highly confidential searches with some of our most seasoned leaders and sensitive organizational priorities
  • Inquisitive - a deep sense of learn & be curious; you stay current on technology leadership trends, organizational shifts, and competitive intelligence that inform your search strategies
  • Discretion - executive hiring often involves succession planning, organizational design, and sensitive leadership changes; you handle confidential information with the highest integrity

There is a strong preference for this role to be located near our customers in the Seattle area.

Key job responsibilities

  • Partnering with research (and conducting your own) to identify and cultivate executive technology candidates that enable our ability to effectively innovate and scale Amazon"s technology agenda
  • Creating unique and robust search strategies that will identify and deliver the right senior technology leaders for the right roles at the right time
  • Developing innovative ways to raise the bar on how Amazon connects with Director & VP-level technology talent in the HR technology, people analytics, and enterprise systems space
  • Continually contributing to the knowledge base of both our team and the broader recruiting community by sharing intelligence related to relevant technology sectors, competitive landscape, and executive talent pools
  • Building out executive technology talent networks across enterprise software, HR tech, cloud, and adjacent sectors, tapping knowledgeable industry sources to develop an on-going pipeline of evergreen candidates
  • Owning business and stakeholder relationships (you"re the go-to and trusted advisor), providing strategic guidance and coaching in close partnership with executive hiring managers & their teams
  • Managing end-to-end executive search engagements including market mapping, target list development, executive outreach, phone screens, interview coordination, offer strategy, and close
  • Conducting informational/exploratory calls, phone screens, interviews & references; actively participating in hiring decisions throughout the candidate life cycle
  • Partnering cross-functionally with Executive Talent Management (ETM), compensation, and HRBPs to ensure holistic executive hiring strategies

About the Company

A

Amazon.com Inc

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
