    Description

    The main purpose of the Senior Estimator/Project Manager is to bid and secure construction projects within the Earthwork division. Once projects are awarded, the Senior Estimator/PM manages the contract from start to finish including scheduling, cost containment, monitoring progress and compliance. This is a growing company, and this role offers tremendous opportunity for professional advancement. 


    • Seek out bid opportunities through various resources including, but not limited to, public postings, assigned bid opportunities and networking opportunities. 
    • Estimate projects for bid submittal through review of project plans and specifications, takeoff and calculation of quantities; gather quotes for materials and subcontractors; construct the bid; prepare bid for submittal. 
    • Manage projects including coordinating internal and external pre-construction meetings; work with operations to coordinate equipment and personnel needs; obtain necessary permits and licensing; manage costs by tracking labor, equipment, materials and subcontractors. 
    • Manage job costs with the coordination of the Business Office to ensure accuracy of invoicing, pay applications and change orders. 
    • Ensure all aspects of the project are completed safely, within budget and according to schedule. 
    • Manage changes to the scope of work to maintain profitability and seek change orders when appropriate. 
    • Perform other related duties as assigned. 
    • Bachelor’s degree in construction management; 7+ years of experience. 
    • Proven experience with construction management software including bidding and takeoffs. 
    • Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with close attention to detail. 
    • Effective communication skills and the ability to adjust to others communication styles to effectively meet the demands of the job. 
    • Ability to represent company with a high degree of professionalism and integrity to build long lasting relationships both internally as well as with project owners, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and others. 
    • Valid Driver’s License and ability to maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record. 
    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
    • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
