Senior Estimator

Our client is a nationally recognized environmental remediation and heavy civil contractor with more than three decades of experience delivering complex environmental and infrastructure projects throughout the United States. The company specializes in environmental remediation, contaminated soil management, hazardous material abatement, site development, and civil construction. Known for self-performing the majority of its work, the organization maintains exceptional control over safety, quality, schedules, and project costs.

As a Senior Estimator, you will:

  • Prepare detailed estimates for environmental remediation and heavy civil construction projects
  • Analyze plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, and bid documents
  • Develop accurate takeoffs, pricing strategies, and cost models
  • Estimate projects involving contaminated soil excavation and environmental cleanup
  • Price large-scale excavation, earthwork, grading, and site development scopes
  • Evaluate in-situ stabilization, soil treatment, sheet piling, shoring, and support of excavation systems
  • Support estimating efforts on renewable energy and solar-related civil projects
  • Collaborate with operations teams to develop competitive and executable project budgets
  • Review subcontractor and supplier proposals
  • Identify project risks and opportunities during the bid process
  • Improve estimating documentation, reporting, and cost transparency
  • Assist leadership with pricing strategy and project pursuit decisions

The ideal Senior Estimator candidate will have:

  • 20+ years of estimating experience
  • Extensive experience in environmental remediation and heavy civil construction
  • Strong background in contaminated soil excavation and environmental cleanup projects
  • Experience estimating excavation, grading, earthwork, and site development projects
  • Knowledge of soil stabilization, shoring, sheet piling, and support of excavation systems
  • Experience supporting civil scopes associated with solar developments
  • Understanding of utility installation and related civil work
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to create detailed, traceable, and defensible estimates
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Highly Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working for a self-performing contractor
  • Background estimating projects ranging from $100K to $30M+
  • Experience with public and private sector projects
  • Environmental construction expertise over concrete or foundation-focused construction
  • Proven ability to mentor teams and improve estimating processes
  • Candidates with a strong combination of environmental remediation expertise and heavy civil estimating experience will be especially attractive for this opportunity.

  • $130,000 - $150,000+ base salary (flexible for the right candidate)
