A Bay Area general contractor is adding a senior-level estimator to its preconstruction group. The work is ground-up multifamily housing, priced from early budgets through bid day and buyout, with a direct line to owners, architects, and the field teams who build what you price. Direct-hire, full-time.

The work

• Carry projects from first budget through final pricing as drawings mature
• Own the takeoff and build out labor, material, sub, and general conditions pricing
• Run bid coverage, level sub numbers, and close scope gaps before they cost money
• Bring value engineering and constructability input to the design team
• Sit in on owner and architect meetings and pursuit interviews
• Hand the estimate off cleanly to operations and track it through buyout
• Keep cost history current so the next number is sharper

What you bring

• 5+ years estimating for a general contractor (strong mid-level estimators considered)
• Wood-frame and podium multifamily estimating
• School or public works estimating a plus
• Bluebeam, OnScreen or similar takeoff software, Excel, BuildingConnected
• Degree in construction management or engineering, or equivalent experience

Logistics

• Office-based in San Jose with site walks as needed
• Bay Area local candidates; no relocation
• U.S. work authorization required
