Description
- Visits project site to understand site conditions/restrictions.
- Reviews the work of Estimators.
- Utilizes project plans and specifications to interpret and decipher scopes of work.
- Assesses scopes of work to compile and establish pricing to cover project-related work activities using conventional methods and software.
- Creates a preliminary project schedule based on the information provided in the plans and specifications utilizing scheduling software.
- Manages the bid team for takeoff and pricing of project or scope of work.
- Assists in preparing bid form, conceptual estimates and negotiated proposals.
- Mentors, coaches and provides feedback to others.
- Coordinates with Supply Chain, to price the resources needed for project.
- Actively communicates with DOTs, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure projects minority goals are being met.
- Researches historical and regional costs for estimating a bid.
- Researches new bidding opportunities and newly advertised projects.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
