Estimator (Detroit, MI)

The key responsibilities of the Estimator (Detroit, MI) are to:

  1. Work with the client from the start of each project to ensure you understand the project scope and vision
  2. Prepare full general conditions estimates and analysis
  3. Prepare construction cost estimates with quantity take-offs and unit pricing
  4. Prepare scope documents per trade and include scope and project specific information
  5. Oversee the beginning of each turn-key project, including details like permit submission and design evaluations
  6. Reviews project proposal, drawings and plans to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project
  7. Collaborate with the architect and construction crew to ensure feasibility of each project
  8. Conduct meetings on-site with architect, client and construction crew
  9. Negotiate with vendors, suppliers and subcontractors
  10. Prepare and submit project estimates to clients

A successful Estimator (Detroit, MI) candidate will possess:

  • 3+ years of GC estimating experience
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or related area of study preferred
  • Significant and diverse project experience with a commercial focus
  • Ability to run projects from conception to completion
  • Experience estimating projects up to $10 million
  • Effective Communication Skills
  • Working knowledge of commercial construction technology and details
  • Strong Personal Drive to take on several challenges and grow professionally
