Description

At Fuss & O’Neill, we’re more than a multidisciplinary engineering and environmental consulting firm—we’re a team of innovators, problem-solvers, and trusted advisors helping communities and clients create lasting positive impact. As we continue to grow our environmental practice throughout Connecticut, we are seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Professional | Project Manager to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned environmental professional who is passionate about leading complex projects, mentoring staff, and building strong client relationships. You'll play a key role in managing environmental investigations, remediation programs, brownfield redevelopment projects, and regulatory compliance efforts while helping shape the future growth of our Connecticut environmental practice.

If you thrive in a collaborative environment, enjoy balancing technical excellence with client engagement, and are ready to take on a leadership role within a growing team, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Environmental Professional | Project Manager, you will:
  • Lead and manage environmental projects from planning through completion, including site investigations, remediation, permitting, compliance, and brownfield redevelopment initiatives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, maintaining strong relationships and delivering exceptional service.
  • Provide technical leadership and oversight to multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, and deliverables.
  • Ensure all project work meets regulatory requirements, quality standards, and client expectations.
  • Contribute to business development efforts through client interaction, proposal preparation, networking, and pursuit of new opportunities.
  • Mentor, supervise, and support the growth of early-career and mid-level environmental professionals.
  • Collaborate with internal teams across disciplines to deliver integrated solutions for clients throughout Connecticut and the Northeast.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Geoscience, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of environmental consulting experience.
  • Connecticut Licensed Environmental Professional (LEP) certification
  • Strong understanding of Connecticut environmental regulations and regulatory programs.
  • Proven project management experience, including budget and schedule management.
  • Demonstrated leadership and staff mentoring experience.
  • Excellent communication, client management, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong technical writing and report preparation skills.

This is a hybrid role, offering the best of both worlds—collaborate in-office with a high-performing team and enjoy the flexibility of working remotely part of the week. We're committed to supporting work-life balance while maintaining strong team connection and project delivery.
