Job Description:
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will support New Product development projects by:
Leading and executing the purchase, assembly, installation, and testing of custom or off the shelf manufacturing equipment and fixtures
Developing custom inspection fixtures/equipment including mechanical setup, LabView software development, and machine learning
Authoring manufacturing work instructions, inspection procedures, attribute charts, PPAP documents
Creating prints for components used for product repair
Coordinating and troubleshooting incoming inspection / FAI of product components
Setting up manufacturing lines for product repair and inspection
This is an individual contributor role that requires the use of judgement in applying professional expertise and is expected to work independently with minimal supervision. Job requires an understanding and application of engineering knowledge. This role typically requires a university degree or an extensive amount of practical knowledge gained through experience with a minimum of 2 or more years of experience. The duration of this contract is a minimum of 12 months with a possibility of extension.
Key Qualifications
Fluent in reading prints (components, custom fixtures, etc.)
Strong writing and documentation skills
Experience with assembly and testing of fixtures/equipment
Experience supporting manufacturing lines
Excellent communication skills
Strong organization skills and ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
Strong ability to independently problem-solve (technical and non-technical)
LabView/TestStand experience a plus
Medical device experience a plus
5 days a week onsite at California, San Jose 5900 Optical Ct, hours 8-5 M-F, possible OT is business needs align
Must haves:
Experience with building and testing fixtures and equipment
Experience authoring manufacturing documents
Candidate should be able to efficiently manage supporting multiple projects and able to independently problem solve
Nice to haves:
LabVIEW or TestStand experience
Medical device experience
Experience supporting manufacturing lines
Education:
Preferred Bachelor of Science in engineer or equivalent
Company experience that would match well:
Intuitive, Boston scientific, Abbott, Johnson & Johnson
Working with internal teams. 4 other engineers that the contingent(s) will be supporting.
Will be working on multiple projects, all new product development.
Candidate should be able to work independently after 30 days (training provided)
