The Infrastructure Platform Engineering Team is responsible for defining, developing, implementing, maintaining, and advising on the effective use of the Publix VMware based technology solutions to maximize their value. This position will play a key active role towards those efforts with a focus on implementation, security, administration, iterative automation, and ongoing platform optimizations.

  • Collaborate with engineering peers and management to iteratively develop and maintain simplified internally accessible dashboards that facilitate data-driven decision-making
  • Champion, develop and iterate automation processes, self-service portals, and monitoring tools to ensure consistency, maintain deployment velocity, and increase efficiency.
  • Drive and operationalize responsible corporate use of AI to enhance collaboration, code development, process efficiency, and documentation while upholding security and data governance standards.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or analytical discipline, or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years implementing, supporting, upgrading, securing, and migrating to VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF 5.2 or higher), including core components (SDDC, vCenter, ESXi, vSAN, and NSX) and adjacent VMware appliances such as Aria, vROPS, vRLI, LCM, vIDM, SRM, and vRNI.
  • 4+ years implementing, supporting, upgrading, securing, and operationalizing infrastructure platform management tools such as SDDC Manager, HPE OneView, and Dell OpenManage.
  • 4+ years of experience implementing, supporting, and migrating Windows Server & Red Hat operating systems in a highly segmented and secure virtual infrastructure
  • 4+ years of experience with various hardware vendors product stack
  • 4+ years of experience leading medium to large projects from requirements through implementation
  • 4+ years of experience in DevOps Engineering for public cloud or on-premises Infrastructure as Code Automation using scripts and tools such as PowerShell, Terraform and Ansible
