Senior Energy Storage Engineer

Join us in this role where you'll lead specialized electrical engineering activities for battery energy storage system projects across development, construction, and operations. You'll shape system design, SCADA and energy management system integration, grid compliance, and technical improvements that strengthen asset performance throughout the project lifecycle.

You'll be part of Engineering where you, together with your colleagues, will deliver energy storage projects and collaborate with specialists across development, construction, operations, procurement, and operational technology. You'll work closely with contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure technical excellence throughout the project lifecycle. As a team, we support one another, share knowledge openly, and work together to solve complex challenges that help accelerate the transition to renewable energy.

You'll play an important role in:

• leading the preliminary design, optimization, technology selection, sizing, augmentation planning, and lifecycle modeling of battery energy storage systems
• serving as a technical resource for energy storage projects from development through commercial operation, with a focus on SCADA, automation, and energy management system integration
• ensuring robust integration with grid requirements, BESS controls, SCADA systems, energy management systems, and utility interfaces
• supporting project delivery through design reviews, site visits, construction meetings, root cause analysis, technical remediation, and compliance reviews
• leading cost estimates and supporting EPC and integrator procurement activities, including specifications, evaluations, design reviews, and technical negotiations
• working across internal teams, contractors, and vendors to clarify technical requirements, manage risk, improve reliability, and deliver practical engineering solutions.

To succeed in the role, you:

• have a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
• bring strong electrical engineering knowledge and experience with battery energy storage system SCADA design
• understand inverter-based resource requirements and applicable regulatory frameworks
• can integrate battery energy storage systems with SCADA, energy management systems, controls, communications, and grid interfaces
• communicate effectively, solve complex technical challenges, and build strong relationships with a broad range of stakeholders
• are willing to travel within the Americas and internationally as required to support project and operational needs.
