Senior Energy Project Manager

Pay Range: $82.97hr - $87.97hr

The organization recently launched an Innovation Accelerator under the Grid Research, Innovation, and Deployment group to tackle critical challenges ranging from energy efficiency and grid modernization to renewable energy integration and enhanced customer experiences. Leveraging proven, customer-oriented, startup methodologies, the organization is fostering new products and services that deliver transformative solutions at scale. The Alpha project is seeking an experienced project manager to join the team. Alpha is developing an advanced energy load management device to enable electrification. The project manager will assist the team in meeting its goals through 2027. This is a fully qualified, career-oriented, Senior Project Manager position that requires mastery of journey-level project manager job duties. Under general direction, the successful candidate will exercise judgment and discretion and be responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects, providing a single point of contact for those projects. Project duration is generally multi-year and requires significant risk management. Assignments will have high visibility and require extensive project management skills.

Job Duties:

The candidate is able to perform the job duties of a journey level Project Manager. Additional job duties include:

• Applies and adapts project management techniques.
• Manages projects that may not be well defined or require creativity or new approaches.
• Obtains commitment on detailed work plans including schedule, cost, resources, contingency and communication plans.
• Obtains management approval as needed and ensures project documentation is maintained.
• Identifies, analyzes, and addresses project performance issues.
• Manages the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables.
• Communicates project status to all stakeholders.
• Assesses project risk and develops contingency plans.
• Identifies and communicates lessons learned and best practices.
• Determines that project objectives are achievable.
• Performs budget tracking and reporting.
• Handles project reporting using PlanisWare.
• Ensures budget reporting and compliance with PMO standards.
• Manages timelines and critical paths.
• Conducts meeting management including daily, weekly, and monthly operating reviews.
• Manages tactical implementation plans and workstream management.
• Demonstrates superior ability to interface with and across supporting organizations.

Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or its equivalent in education and experience.
• 8+ years of experience in project management, project controls, engineering and/or construction.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and maintenance is desired.
• Specific experience with electric utilities or the electric industry is desired.
