A growing California litigation firm is seeking a Senior Employment Litigation Attorney to join its employment law practice. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced litigator who enjoys managing sophisticated matters independently while working alongside a collaborative team of accomplished attorneys.
Responsibilities
- Independently manage a diverse employment litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
- Handle a broad range of employment matters, including single-plaintiff litigation, multi-plaintiff disputes, wage and hour claims, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other workplace-related matters.
- Develop case strategy, manage discovery, take and defend depositions, and oversee all phases of litigation.
- Draft and argue substantive motions, pleadings, briefs, and other case-related filings.
- Prepare matters for mediation, arbitration, trial, and resolution.
- Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to ensure efficient case management and high-quality client service.
- Maintain regular client communication and provide strategic legal guidance throughout the lifecycle of each matter.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
- 7+ years of employment litigation experience.
- Defense-side employment experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage a substantial caseload.
- Strong legal writing, research, analytical, and advocacy skills.
- Experience handling wage and hour matters, discrimination claims, harassment claims, retaliation claims, and related employment disputes.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced litigation environment while maintaining high standards of work product.
