Senior Electromechanical Design EngineerBase pay range: $150,000.00/yr - $225,000.00/yrOur client is a very successful manufacturer of products for the electrical power utilities industry, creating mechanical and electromechanical solutions that keep our electrical grid running. The Senior Electromechanical Design Engineer will lead design, development, testing, and support of new product solutions in the intelligent power grid.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop conceptual & detailed product models.Prepare, execute, and document verification and validation test plans including test methods and acceptance criteria.Design controller products that include microprocessor-based controls for power distribution automation applications, such as capacitor controls, source transfer controls, electronic fuses, switchgear controls, and patented peer‑to‑peer feeder restoration systems.Design electronic products for smart grid solutions, including analog and unique power supply designs.Contribute to packaging, user documentation, safety labels, and product markings.Perform First Article Inspection and part quality approvals based on form, fit, and function.Mandatory QualificationsBachelor's degree in electrical engineering (or equivalent).7 to 10 years of hands‑on experience in design, development, and testing of electromechanical products such as inverters, drives, servers, and network switches.Experience with circuit board layout on analog and mixed‑signal boards.Experience with new production build and modification of electronic products to manufacturing.Practical knowledge in designing assemblies using sheet metal, mounting PCBA's, cable harnesses, electrical contacts/terminals/receptacles, springs, and fasteners.Experience in 3D CAD modeling using SolidWorks (sheet metal, plastic, cable).Tolerance stack‑up analysis.Experience with regulatory compliance, IEC/UL/CSA/NEMA standards, National Electric Code, etc.Preferred QualificationsExperience and use of simulation tools for finite element analysis and thermal simulation.Understanding of EMI/EMC and thermal impact.Design of packaging used for electronic equipment.They pay a great salary and will sponsor visas and pay relocation.
