ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

If you bring deep electrical estimating expertise and enjoy solving complex cost and constructability challenges, we want to talk to you. As a Senior Electrical Estimator, you’ll serve as the electrical subject matter expert across large-scale advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, mission-critical,
and industrial projects—from conceptual budgeting through GMP development. You’ll partner with owners, design teams, trade partners, procurement, and project leadership to develop accurate, competitive estimates while identifying risk and opportunities to improve project value. You’ll thrive in this role if you’re technically strong, commercially minded, and confident leading electrical estimating strategy through complex preconstruction efforts.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY

Electrical Estimating & Technical Leadership

• Lead conceptual, schematic, design development, and GMP-level electrical estimates, including quantity takeoffs, labor productivity, material pricing, indirect costs, escalation, and contingency recommendations.

• Serve as the electrical subject matter expert across power distribution, medium and low voltage, emergency power, generators, UPS systems, grounding, lighting, controls, fire alarm, low voltage systems, and specialty electrical infrastructure.

• Review design documents, BIM models, and specifications to identify scope gaps, constructability concerns, coordination issues, and cost impacts throughout design development.

• Develop and maintain electrical estimating standards, assemblies, historical cost data, benchmarking tools, and estimating systems to improve accuracy and consistency.

Trade Partner, Procurement & Cost Strategy

• Lead electrical subcontractor prequalification, bid package development, bid leveling, scope alignment, and evaluation of technical capabilities and execution strategies.

• Develop procurement strategies and evaluate pricing for long-lead electrical equipment such as switchgear, transformers, busway, generators, UPS systems, MCCs, distribution equipment, and specialty systems.

• Lead electrical value engineering and cost optimization efforts, evaluating alternate materials, equipment selections, installation methods, and procurement strategies while maintaining project performance.

Cross-Functional Partnership

• Partner with owners, engineers, design consultants, preconstruction teams, project managers, procurement, and trade partners to align scope, schedule, cost, and project requirements.

• Present estimate updates, assumptions, cost drivers, risks, and recommendations to project stakeholders and executive leadership.

• Mentor and support estimating team members while contributing to continuous improvement across Okland’s preconstruction organization.

YOU’RE READY FOR THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE

• 10+ years of electrical estimating experience on large commercial, industrial, semiconductor, mission-critical, healthcare, or advanced manufacturing projects.

• Deep knowledge of electrical construction methods, materials, labor productivity, procurement, and subcontractor management.

• Proven experience developing conceptual estimates through GMP pricing, including strong cost planning, budgeting, and risk analysis skills.

• Advanced proficiency in electrical quantity takeoffs, BIM, estimating platforms, and digital construction tools.

• Strong technical knowledge of major electrical systems, including high/medium/low voltage distribution, emergency power, generators, UPS, grounding, fire alarm, lighting, controls, and low voltage systems.

• Experience leading value engineering, procurement strategy, trade partner coordination, and cost optimization.

• Strong executive-level communication, presentation, collaboration, and leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop estimating teams.

• Experience supporting advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, or mission-critical environments is strongly preferred.
