Description of Work
(20%) Work with DHHS Divisions, State agencies, and other stakeholders to identify, prioritize, plan, and schedule projects.
(50%) Project Management of the design, bidding, and construction of large multi-discipline architectural and engineering and multi-million-dollar capital improvement building projects to assure that projects are completed within budget, on schedule, meeting quality standards, satisfying customer needs, adhering to State requirements and procedures, and complying with all applicable Federal, State, and Local building code requirements.
(20%) Design of electrical engineering building systems
(5%) Develop OC-25 cost estimates (document required to certify a project for funding) for proposed projects.
(5%) Visit DHHS statewide campuses to meet with stakeholders to discuss and observe existing conditions of buildings and systems to assist with developing the scope of work for new projects and to attend project status meetings during design, bidding, and construction phases of projects

About the DHHS Office of Property & Construction
The Division of Property and Construction manages the capital assets of the Department, supporting 18 state-operated facility campuses with over 7.7 million square feet of building space and 148 leased properties totaling 1.2 million square feet. The division also provides maintenance, housekeeping, and grounds services for the Dorothea Dix Campus-35 buildings across 326 acres-and basic maintenance and grounds services for the Governor Morehead School, which includes 31 buildings totaling 291,000 square feet.

Bachelor's degree in an applicable field of engineering from an appropriately accredited institution and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience

An equivalent combination of education and experience. Necessary Special Qualification May require registration as a professional engineer by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors.
