About Us

PEC is a 150-person, employee-owned (ESOP) engineering consulting firm delivering practical solutions in electrical, telecommunications, and infrastructure design. If you''re coming from a large corporate environment and want less bureaucracy, more ownership, and real impact, this is a chance to join a smaller, collaborative team where your work genuinely matters-and where you share in the results.

The Role

We''re seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our three-person electrical team. The role is driven by the planned retirement of a senior engineer, who will remain on board to mentor and transition responsibilities-creating a rare, high-visibility opportunity to step into a lead role with real runway to grow into it. You''ll take ownership of design, client interaction, and project execution from concept through construction on a variety of industrial projects.

What You''ll Do

  • Help lead our electrical design team-supporting clients with project concept, scope development, proposal preparation, and the coordination of construction documents
  • Design electrical systems, including power distribution, motor controls, and industrial facility systems
  • Develop drawings, specifications, and calculations (one-lines, load studies, and similar)
  • Coordinate daily with our well-established design partners to deliver successful projects
  • Conduct site visits and field investigations, and work directly with clients
  • Support construction through site visits, RFIs, submittals, and troubleshooting

What We''re Looking For

  • Bachelor''s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 6+ years of experience, primarily in industrial electrical design-strong mid-career candidates ready to grow into the lead role are encouraged to apply
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, or on track to obtain licensure
  • Strong working knowledge of the NEC and applicable codes
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Employee ownership (ESOP): share directly in the company''s long-term success
  • Real impact: hands-on involvement in projects from concept through construction
  • Small-team environment: no silos-your voice and expertise carry weight
  • Clear growth path: step into the lead role in the near term as part of a planned, mentored succession
  • Established design partners and long-standing relationships with industrial clients

Benefits

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Disability and life insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Professional development support

PEC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
