    About the role

    We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer, PE to lead and contribute to the design, coordination, and execution of electrical projects for a wide range of clients. This role is ideal for a self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with at least 10 years of experience in Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls engineering—especially in an Engineering and Design Consulting environment.


    What you'll do

    • Develop scopes of work, budgets, and schedules
    • Design and specify medium and low-voltage transformers and motor control centers (MCCs)
    • Plan and execute power distribution systems for industrial facilities
    • Create one-line diagrams and specifications for LV, MV, and HV substations (up to 500kV)
    • Establish electrical area classifications and develop grounding system designs
    • Design protection relay and PLC control cabinets
    • Develop lighting and lightning protection plans
    • Design network architecture for electrical systems
    • Create cable and conduit schedules, including sizing
    • Perform power studies using SKM or ETAP software
    • Prepare detailed design milestones, staffing schedules, and man-hour estimates
    • Define design concepts and ensure technical accuracy to meet project requirements
    • Prepare Engineering Change Requests and research engineering solutions, including cost and time estimation
    • Generate specifications for electrical equipment and construction
    • Apply engineering standards and ensure compliance with applicable codes
    • Support field technicians with troubleshooting and commissioning, including protection relays
    • Review and interpret design data from P&IDs
    • Perform complex calculations and designs per departmental standards
    • Prepare coordination studies and arc flash analysis reports in compliance with safety standards
    • Coordinate cross-discipline design details and review drafters'/designers' work
    • Prepare and/or supervise engineering reports, studies, calculations, and drawing reviews
    • Train and mentor junior engineers, designers, and technicians
    • Monitor and communicate project changes to Department and Project Managers
    • Analyze transformer monitoring systems data (strong plus)

    What you'll bring

    • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
    • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
    • 10+ years of experience in Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls engineering within an Engineering and Design Consulting environment
    • Proficiency with SKM or ETAP power study software
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Self-motivated, detail-oriented approach with a willingness to learn and grow
    • Currently residing in the Houston, TX area (preferred)
