OSI Laser Diode, a division of OSI Optoelectronics is seeking an Electrical Engineer who will be responsible for the development and support of new opto-electronic products. These products will build upon OSIL’s laser diode & photodiode design experience. This individual will work closely with the Sales Team’s Business Development effort to identify appropriate products, collect specifications, and design to those specifications.  They will also design analog and digital circuits, identify component suppliers, and work with the manufacturing team to release products into production. Additionally, they will be responsible for generating and supporting all associated documentation related to design activities

Responsibilities:

• Design of opto-electronic modules & components.
• Writing product specifications.
• Interface with customers.
• Interface with internal functions & manufacturing.
• Writing software code as required.
• Supplier development.
• Technical marketing.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or a realated field required.
• 5+ years of experience in electronic product design required.
• Must have thorough knowledge of optoelectronic applications.
• Thorough understanding of analog & digital interface techniques required.
• Experience with circuit simulation, Python and Labview applications & code essential.
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in the design of lenses and optics a plus.
• Understanding of opto-electronic device characteristics needed.

Pay may range from $128,000 to $133,000 annually

 

The pay range above represents annual base salary only. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as your job level, geographic location, date of hire, experience, job-related knowledge and skills, and education in conjunction with market and business considerations.

 

Base salary is one component of your total rewards package. You may be eligible for long-term incentives, potential discretionary bonuses, and the ability to purchase company stock at a discounted rate through the Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP). OSI also offers comprehensive benefits including various options for health plans, access to 401(k) retirement plan, health savings account, disability insurance, life insurance, AD&D insurance, leave of absence programs and an array of voluntary benefits.
