At Optima Engineering, an employee-owned MEP engineering consulting firm, we focus on delivering high-quality mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and technology design solutions for buildings across the Southeast. Our projects include higher education, municipal, K-12, and commercial facilities. We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team and help us continue to provide thoughtful and efficient designs for our clients.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience on Mission Critical and Data Centers projects.
Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of North Carolina or ability to obtain your PE in North Carolina within 6 months.
Responsibilities
Provide input on project viability, assist with proposal preparation, and help select the design team.
Produce project schedules, lighting, power, and fire alarm designs, compliance checks and specifications, and conduct reviews.
Conduct interdisciplinary coordination and manage final reviews/approvals between disciplines and agencies.
Assist designers with maintaining conformed drawings, preparing submittals, and issuing revisions.
Work in conjunction with the Project Manager, Designers, and Construction Administration Specialist to meet company standards and exceed Client expectations.
Experience, Skills and Knowledge
Very familiar with SKM, Short circuit and Arc Flash Studies SKM or Easy Power.
Commissioning experience in Data Centers
UPS and back-up generators
Ability to write Test Scripts and Direct Efforts
Willing to work some nights and weekends
