What You'll Get to DoAs a Senior Electrical Engineer at Echo Power, you are the technical authority on your projects. This role is built for a self-starter who wants to own their work from start to finish: you take a project from concept through construction documents, make the engineering decisions, and stand behind the result. If you want to be in control of your work rather than a small piece of someone else's, this is that seat. You will lead the design, assessment, and analysis of electrical power systems ranging from 480V through 15kV for facilities where power cannot fail, including hospitals, utilities, and industrial and mission-critical infrastructure across the United States. You will design projects and direct teams of engineers, designers, and drafters in executing the work, instructing, reviewing, and holding drawing sets to the Echo standard, while remaining hands-on and producing design work alongside your team when projects demand it. You will lead multiple projects concurrently, partnering with Engineering Project Managers who own scheduling, budgets, and project coordination so that you can focus on what you do best: engineering. Key Responsibilities- Lead the electrical design of assigned projects from concept through construction documents, serving as the senior technical authority.
- Direct and instruct engineers, designers, and drafters in executing design work; review drawing sets, calculations, and engineering packages to Echo's standards.
- Produce design deliverables directly alongside the team as project needs require.
- Serve as the technical expert on power system studies, reviewing and validating SKM models, methods, and results (arc flash, short-circuit, coordination) produced by the engineering team.
- Interpret and apply NEC, NFPA, and applicable industry standards, making the engineering judgment calls where standards conflict or are silent.
- Lead on-site field investigations, equipment assessments, and data collection efforts, participating directly alongside the team.
- Support commissioning and field activities as needed for project execution.
- Provide technical mentorship to engineering team members, developing their design judgment and standards fluency.
- Support AHJ coordination and regulatory compliance activities.
- Partner with Engineering Project Managers, clients, field personnel, and other stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes.
- Lead multiple concurrent projects at this level of responsibility.
What You'll BringRequired Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- 7+ years of recent experience in low-voltage electrical design, including power system studies as an integrated part of the design process.
- Expert-level command of SKM modeling, analysis, and validation, sufficient to review, challenge, and stand behind study work performed by others.
- Command of NEC and NFPA standards and electrical engineering best practices, with the depth to serve as the authoritative interpreter for project teams.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, SKM Power Tools, Microsoft Office, and similar engineering software.
- Proven ability to lead and direct project teams of engineers, designers, and drafters, and to mentor junior engineers.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Self-motivated, with the drive to own work independently in a remote environment while supporting field operations.
- Ability to travel up to 25% throughout the United States.
Strongly Preferred Qualifications- Experience supporting healthcare, utility, industrial, or mission-critical facilities.
- Working knowledge of NFPA 99, NFPA 110, and NEC Article 517 for healthcare facility work.
- Familiarity with commissioning, startup, and field troubleshooting activities.
- Experience working directly with utilities, contractors, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
Compensation & Benefits- Salary: $110,695–$164,995 annually (based on education and experience)
