Senior Electrical Designer

NELSON is seeking an experienced SeniorElectrical Designer to join our Electrical Engineering team. This role will lead electrical design efforts for facility and infrastructure projects, developing conceptual and detailed designs for power, lighting, fire alarm, and secondary electrical systems. The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of experience, strong Revit skills, and the ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and support construction administration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

• Provide design support on facility and infrastructure design projects under supervision of electrical engineer
• Effectively lead electrical design efforts on moderate to large projects
• Study design criteria, codes, and standards and incorporate required design practices into production of design deliverables
• Develop conceptual and detailed designs for facilities and infrastructure projects based on scope of project, design criteria and applicable codes and standards
• Assist with gathering field data to support development of design deliverables
• Review and observe construction progress on projects to verify compliance with design deliverables (e.g. RFI responses, progress observation reports, etc.)
• Duties to include drawings, reports, shop drawing review, construction administration, and training/development
• Coordinate with other disciplines
• Attend client meetings to discuss facility infrastructure needs

Education / Experience:

• Extensive experience providing facility electrical system design services required
• AS graduate in Engineering Technology or other technical / drafting degree required
• 10+ years’ experience in building design of power, lighting, fire alarm and secondary electrical systems
• Experience with use/navigation of 3D BIM/Drafting/Modeling tools for creation of design deliverables is required. Proficiency with Autodesk REVIT 3D modeling required

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
Duties will typically be performed in an office environment, at construction sites for new facilities, or at existing facilities undergoing renovation. Periodic travel will be required for site visits and client meetings.

National average salary range: $90,000 – $130,000 (10+ years experience). Factors such as years of relevant experience, qualifications/licensure, education, and location are taken into consideration during the hiring process. Additional compensation includes bonuses and benefits. Bonuses can include but are not limited to: Long Term Incentive Plan, Short Term Incentive Plan, Profit Sharing
