Long-term contract in Birmingham, AL. Very competitive pay, time and a half for OT, Mob/Demob, and strong per diem.
Requirements:B.S. or M.S in electrical engineering from an accredited university.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or actively working toward licensure.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant industrial experience in electrical, preferably in EPC
- environments.
- Knowledgeable in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Revit, ElecDes,
- ETAP, SKM, PSCAD, A6132, and Dialux)
- Proficiency in PLCs, DCS, SCADA systems, and field instrumentation.
- Strong understanding of NEC, IEEE, and other relevant codes and standards.
- Ability to produce efficient, constructible designs with attention to cost and schedule.
- Experience with EPC project workflows and documentation standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, Access & Outlook)
Responsibilities:• Develop detailed design deliverables including:
- Single-line diagrams
- Motor elementary diagrams
- Interconnect diagrams
- Electrical cable schedules
- Equipment specification
- Material take-offs (MTOs)
- Grounding, lighting, lightning protection, and heat trace systems
• Perform engineering calculations to validate design integrity.
• Design and implement instrumentation systems for process control and monitoring.
• Conduct arc flash studies, grounding grid analysis, and relay coordination.
• Prepare construction packages and support field implementation.
• Ensure designs meet client expectations, industry standards, and project specifications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project alignment.
• Provide on-site startup and commissioning support as needed.
