Senior Elastic Platform Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Elastic Platform Engineer to support a company focused on a large-scale government modernization effort migrating from Splunk to Elastic within a containerized, Kubernetes-based environment. This position is on-site at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. The Senior Elastic Platform Engineer will lead the design, deployment, and management of scalable Elastic platforms leveraging Kubernetes and ECK.

Responsibilities for the Senior Elastic Platform Engineer include:

• Design, deploy, and manage Elastic clusters within Elastic Cloud on Kubernetes (ECK) environments
• Build and maintain custom data ingestion pipelines beyond out-of-the-box configurations
• Implement and manage Index Lifecycle Management (ILM) policies and large-scale logging solutions
• Support and optimize Kubernetes-based infrastructure for Elastic workloads
• Troubleshoot and enhance complex Elastic deployments, including Splunk-to-Elastic migration efforts

Required Qualifications for the Senior Elastic Platform Engineer include:

• 6+ years of experience with Elastic engineering, platform engineering, or similar roles
• Strong hands-on experience with Elastic Stack, Kubernetes, and ECK (Elastic Cloud on Kubernetes)
• Proven ability to design custom ingestion pipelines and solve complex technical challenges
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Active Secret clearance

Compensation for the Senior Elastic Platform Engineer include:

• Salary Range: $190,000-$240,000 depending on experience
