Our client is an aerospace and defense technology organization developing advanced communications, sensing, signal-processing, and mission-focused systems. The engineering team works on highly technical wireless and signal-analysis problems, combining DSP, software-defined radio, RF technologies, and embedded systems to support real-world applications across complex operating environments.

    Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior DSP Engineer to design, develop, and validate advanced digital signal processing solutions for communications and sensing applications. This role will focus on DSP algorithm development, wireless signal analysis, software-defined radio, and C/C++ implementation. The engineer will work across research, system design, experimentation, integration, and validation, collaborating closely with software, hardware, RF, and systems teams. Strong academic or research backgrounds are highly valued, and candidates with PhDs, published research, or deep technical expertise may be considered even without extensive direct defense experience.

    Required Skills:

    • Strong background in digital signal processing (DSP) and communications theory.

    • Experience designing and implementing advanced DSP algorithms.

    • Strong programming experience in C/C++.

    • Experience with software-defined radio (SDR).

    • Knowledge of wireless communications and signal analysis, including RF, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or similar technologies.

    • Experience with signal-processing techniques such as filtering, correlation, rate conversion, or related methods.

    • Experience with DSP validation, testing, and performance analysis.

    • Ability to translate research, system concepts, or requirements into working algorithms and technical solutions.

    • Experience collaborating across software, hardware, RF, systems, and integration teams.

    • Familiarity with revision control tools such as Git or TFS.

    • Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.

    Education / Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant DSP or communications experience; or

    • Master's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience; or

    • PhD with 3+ years of relevant experience.

    • Exceptional PhD candidates with strong research, publications, or technical depth may be considered with less traditional industry experience.

    Bonus / Soft Skills:

    • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Signal Processing, Communications, RF, or a related field.

    • Published research, technical papers, patents, or authorship in relevant technical areas.

    • Experience with RF signal analysis, wireless communications, electronic warfare, sensing, or related advanced technologies.

    • Experience conducting experiments, analyzing data, and validating algorithms in real-world or lab environments.

    • Strong research mindset with the ability to move from theory into implementation.

    • Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working through highly technical, open-ended challenges.

    • Ability to contribute to system architecture, technical direction, and design decisions.

    • Experience mentoring engineers or serving as a technical subject matter expert.

    • Strong communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary engineering teams.

    Ideal Candidate Profile

The strongest candidate will have deep DSP expertise, strong C/C++ skills, and experience with SDR and wireless signal analysis. Candidates with RF, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, telecommunications, or related signal-processing backgrounds should translate well. This team is also especially open to PhD-level candidates with strong published research or technical depth, even if their direct defense-industry experience is limited.
