Job Summary:

The Senior Director, Radiation Services is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational oversight, and performance of USSM’s radiation oncology service line across multiple markets. This role provides direct leadership and support to Radiation Services Directors and facility leadership teams while partnering with physicians and executive leadership to drive operational excellence, quality outcomes, patient experience, regulatory compliance, and financial performance.

The Senior Director serves as the primary operational leader for radiation services and is responsible for promoting operational best practices, developing talent, supporting growth initiatives, and driving consistent performance across all radiation oncology locations while recognizing and addressing the unique needs of individual markets and physician groups.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

• Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with organizational goals and growth initiatives.
• Partner with executive leadership and physicians to identify opportunities for service line expansion and operational improvement.
• Establish and promote operational standards, policies, procedures, and best practices across all radiation centers while considering market-specific needs, physician preferences, and local operational requirements.
• Serve as a strategic advisor regarding radiation oncology operations, staffing, and performance.
• Collaborate with regional leadership and physician partners to balance organizational consistency with market-specific operational needs and opportunities.

Operational Oversight

• Provide oversight and support for all Radiation Services Directors and facility leadership teams.
• Monitor operational performance, patient access, scheduling efficiency, productivity, and service standards.
• Conduct regular site visits and operational assessments.
• Lead process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, quality, and patient satisfaction while allowing flexibility to address regional and market-specific considerations.

Leadership & Talent Development

• Coach, mentor, and develop Radiation Services Directors and other key leaders.
• Assist with recruitment, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives.
• Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Support performance management and employee engagement efforts.

Financial & Business Management

• Partner with leadership on annual operating and capital budgets.
• Monitor financial performance and key performance indicators.
• Identify opportunities to improve revenue, resource utilization, and operational efficiency.
• Support business development and growth initiatives.

Quality, Compliance & Patient Experience

• Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, accreditation, and radiation safety standards.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and monitor performance outcomes.
• Partner with clinical and operational leaders to enhance patient experience.
• Oversee resolution of operational and patient service issues.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Knowledge of radiation oncology operations, physician practice management, healthcare regulatory requirements, and multi-site healthcare operations.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and healthcare information systems.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Radiologic Technology, or related field required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Radiation Therapy certification preferred.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive healthcare leadership experience.
• Multi-site healthcare operations experience preferred.
• Experience leading managers and operational teams preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting and computer work.
• Ability to travel at least 50% to support radiation services locations, including regular site visits, meetings, and other business needs.
• Position may require relocation to the Fort Worth, Texas area based on organizational needs.
• Regularly required to communicate verbally and participate in meetings.
• May require extended periods of standing or walking during site visits.
