SUMMARY
The Sr. Director, Warranty provides executive leadership for Qcells USA's warranty management function across all solar EPC and BESS projects, overseeing the full lifecycle of warranty obligations from contract execution through claims resolution and close-out. This role is accountable for developing and implementing warranty strategy, managing warranty reserves and exposure, directing cross-functional warranty teams, and ensuring that Qcells USA meets its warranty commitments to customers while protecting the company's financial and reputational interests.
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the Sr. Director, Warranty serves as the enterprise-wide authority on warranty policy, process, and performance. This leader partners closely with Engineering, Construction, Legal, Finance, Procurement, and Operations to drive continuous improvement in project quality, minimize warranty exposure, and deliver best-in-class post-construction support to Qcells USA's utility-scale solar and BESS customers nationwide.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Define and execute Qcells USA's enterprise warranty strategy, encompassing solar PV, BESS, and EPC balance-of-plant systems across the full project portfolio
• Lead, develop, and manage a high-performing warranty team including warranty managers, engineers, coordinators, and field technicians
• Serve as the primary executive escalation point for all major warranty claims, customer disputes, and warranty-related litigation matters
• Oversee the end-to-end warranty claims process from initial notification through root cause analysis, remediation, and close-out
• Partner with Finance to maintain accurate warranty reserve models, track warranty cost exposure, and report warranty financial performance to executive leadership
• Collaborate with Engineering and Construction to integrate warranty risk mitigation into design standards, construction practices, and subcontractor requirements
• Negotiate and manage warranty pass-through obligations with equipment suppliers, subcontractors, and extended warranty providers
• Establish and enforce warranty administration systems, databases, and KPIs to track claim volumes, resolution times, cost trends, and customer satisfaction
• Lead post-construction performance reviews and warranty audits across the operating project portfolio to identify systemic quality issues and corrective actions
• Represent Qcells USA in warranty-related customer meetings, industry forums, and regulatory proceedings as required
• Support due diligence activities for M&A, project financing, and asset sale transactions involving warranty representations and obligations
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field required; Master's degree or MBA preferred
• 16+ years of progressive experience in warranty management, quality assurance, or EPC operations, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role
• Deep expertise in solar PV, BESS, or utility-scale EPC construction warranty structures, including equipment, workmanship, and performance warranties
• Proven track record of managing complex warranty claims, leading root cause investigations, and driving corrective action programs in a project-based environment
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing warranty reserves, cost reporting, and budget accountability
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional and geographically distributed teams in a fast-paced, growth-stage company
• Exceptional negotiation, communication, and executive presentation skills; ability to represent Qcells USA with customers, suppliers, and investors
• Proficiency in warranty management systems, project management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Familiarity with applicable industry standards, IEC/UL certifications, and construction codes relevant to solar and BESS installations
