Job Summary

Responsible for adaptation and execution of the retail facilities management strategy including store condition brand standards, program scopes of work, vendor selection and management, and facility automation. Drives business outcomes that support company goals that align with retail and healthcare expectations. Accountable for innovative and efficient operation of facilities management services, meeting or exceeding service level expectations, and delivering against budget. Collaborates with Company leaders, and external stakeholders, fostering a cohesive culture that delivers a value proposition to the Company. Owns and oversees the development and governance process for budgets. Inspires and holds an engaged management team accountable for performance. Protects the capacity of direct reports and ensures their ability to execute. Accountable for facilities management services, managing executive-level concerns, and driving vendor performance in support of field operations.

Job responsibility

  • Budget oversight and delivery of $150M+ annual spend across SG&A and Capital programs for retail open location facilities management, dark store services, disaster recovery, and property loss claims.
  • Lead, manage, and mentor a diverse hierarchical team of 20+ facility professionals while fostering a collaborative, innovative, and high-performance culture.
  • Responsible for overseeing a leadership team that delivers thousands of reactive and planned facilities services while adhering to an annual budget and ensuring vendor accountability.
  • Implements strategy of facility automation to lower ongoing cost of automation, proactive alarming, and ability to drive rapid changes to operating guidelines across HVAC, Refrigeration, and Lighting.
  • Accountable for a team culture of program innovation, continuous improvement, and cost transformation strategies to deliver against budget.
  • Develop and maintain an industry leading program management framework including program strategies, Business Reviews and KPIs that ensure best in class execution of Facilities Management programs.
  • Leverage and create robust connections and strong relationships with internal leadership and external stakeholders to collaborate and ensure cohesive alignment for all programs.
  • Delivers against all performance measurements, cost savings opportunities, program activity, budget/financial reports, and strategic plans and communicates to leadership in a frequent and timely manner.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 8 years of experience facilities/asset management OR High School Diploma/GED and 11 years of experience in facilities/asset management.
  • At least 7 years of experience leading strategic initiatives which align with business goals and budgets.
  • Experience collaborating with both internal and external resources to develop strategies that meet department goals within budget and established timelines.
  • Experience developing relationships at a leadership level within the organization, as well as with business partners and professional trade organizations.
  • Experience influencing the performance of groups, subordinates, and peers.
  • Experience interpreting reports to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
  • Experience ensuring timely response to inquiries and/or complaints.
  • Experience with program management (for example: planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives).
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) including creating documents, worksheets, and presentations, entering and formatting data and text, creating basic formulas, working with cells and rows, creating tables, and adding graphics.
  • At least 5 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.
  • At least 5 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross functional team leadership.
  • Willing to travel up to/at least 50% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or Master's Degree.
  • Experience with facilities management services and programs, such as lighting & electrical, signage, floor care, landscaping & snow removal, pest control, interior cleaning, exterior building & property care, elevators, escalators, HVAC, refrigeration, warranties, inspections, and code compliance.
  • Experience working with financial and accounting principles.
  • Experience managing contracts, compliance, warranties, and/or vendor relationships.
  • Lean/Six Sigma experience or certifications.
