The Washington Nationals are seeking a strategic, analytically driven leader to serve as Senior Director, Business Strategy & Analytics. This role sits at the center of the organization’s revenue engine, shaping high-impact decisions across ticketing, marketing, partnerships, and other key business lines.

This leader will act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, using advanced analytics, market insights, and structured problem-solving to drive revenue growth, optimize pricing and inventory strategies, and inform long-term business planning.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Revenue Optimization

  • Lead the development of data-informed strategies to maximize revenue across ticketing and other consumer-driven business lines.
  • Partner with senior leadership to define and execute short and long-term strategic initiatives.
  • Translate complex analyses into clear, actionable recommendations for executive stakeholders.

Ticketing Strategy & Market Optimization

  • Own ticket pricing strategy, inventory management, and demand forecasting across all products.
  • Evaluate and refine go-to-market strategies across primary and secondary ticket channels.
  • Analyze market dynamics, consumer behavior, and competitive trends to inform pricing and packaging decisions.
  • Develop strategies to optimize yield, attendance, and lifetime customer value.

Advanced Analytics & Decision Support

  • Build and oversee predictive models related to demand, retention, and customer segmentation.
  • Lead deep-dive analyses that uncover revenue opportunities and operational efficiencies.
  • Identify key performance drivers and develop frameworks to guide decision-making across departments.

Cross-Functional Strategy

  • Serve as an internal consultant to departments including Marketing, Corporate Partnerships, Concessions, Retail, and Ballpark Operations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to solve complex business problems and evaluate new initiatives.
  • Support strategic planning processes with rigorous analysis and scenario modeling.

Secondary Market & Partner Strategy

  • Support the development and execution of strategies related to secondary ticket distribution partners.
  • Analyze broker and partner performance to inform operating models and partnership decisions.
  • Provide insights that shape negotiation strategies and maximize overall ticket ecosystem value.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of analysts and managers.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, curiosity, and continuous improvement.

Compensation:

    The projected salary range for this position is $168,500 - $171,000 per year.  Actual pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to the applicant’s: qualifications, skills, expertise, education/training, certifications, and other organization requirements. Starting salaries for new employees are frequently not at the top of the applicable salary range.
