The Senior Director & Associate General Counsel - Securities Clearing will provide specialized in-house legal support to CME Securities Clearings (CMESC) staff and management team with respect to existing regulatory requirements and new regulatory developments applicable to CMESC and its participants. The attorney will report directly to the head of CMESCs Head of Legal and provide legal and regulatory leadership to the business. The attorney should have experience supporting SEC-regulated clearing houses or intermediaries with respect to clearing regulatory issues. The attorney must have the ability to work both independently and with cross-functional teams. The attorney will provide legal and regulatory support for CMESC operations, risk management and internal governance. The attorney will provide regulatory support and guidance for new CMESC initiatives, assist in new product design and implementation and implement clearing services and banking arrangements in coordination with internal legal teams and external counsel. The attorney will engage with regulatory bodies on behalf of CMESC. The attorney will work with CMESC staff, management and other personnel to ensure that its rules, policies and procedures align to internal CMESC requirements, regulatory requirements and best practices. The attorney will be responsible for drafting rules and related rule submissions, facilitating internal corporate review and approval, submitting of rules to external regulators and interacting with regulators during the review process, all in close coordination with the CMESC staff, management and other personnel.

The attorney will monitor new regulatory developments, both domestic and international, that directly or indirectly impact clearing CMESC and work with CMESC staff, management and other personnel to evaluate impacts and develop CMESC's strategy and responses, including drafting comment letters, where appropriate, and working with appropriate industry groups and regulators to promote effective regulatory policies and CMESC's business initiatives.
