We’re currently seeking a highly technical Senior DevOps Engineer to join our 24/7/365 Operations team. In this role, you’ll be working closely with the Product Development team to build, deploy, and support custom sites and services. You’ll be responsible for tier-II/III support and escalation of a highly-available Production environment, as well as provide technical leadership.
What you’ll be doing…
- Work closely with the Product Development team to build, deploy, and support custom sites and services.
- Maintain an expert level of knowledge of Linux server operating systems.
- Experience with Redis and PostgreSQL clustered database systems.
- Knowledge of hosting applications such as Node.js and PHP using nginx and passenger.
- Experience with Configuration Management and CI/CD tools such as Puppet, Rundeck and Jenkins.
- Proficient in designing and deploying environments in Amazon Web Services, with hands-on experience of VPCs, EC2, RDS, S3, ElastiCache, and Route 53.
- Provide tier-II/III support and escalation of a 24x7x365 Production environment, which includes an on-call rotation that is responsible for addressing issues on all critical systems during extended coverage periods.
- Act as a technical escalation point for System Administrators and Engineers.
- Automate tasks and processes with scripts and third-party tools.
- Develop and maintain the security standards.
- Coordinate and implement key infrastructure technologies and system management tools, monitoring tools, databases, web services, and integration tools.
- Support, maintain, and improve systems documentation, policies and procedures.
- Manage the scheduling and implementation of upgrades, modifications and installations on systems.
- Assist in training and maintaining core support skills, developing new skills as required.
- Manage the evaluation and implementation of any application necessary for the Operations team to complete the day-to-day management of enterprise systems and applications.
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement new technologies.
Skills and experience we’re seeking…
- BS and 5 years of DevOps or System Engineering experience.
- Expert level of knowledge in Linux Server Operating Systems (CentOS)
- Proficiency with the following skillsets are highly desirable: haproxy, consul, graphite and grafana.
- Experience or knowledge in technologies such as Docker, Terraform, Cloud Formation
- Proficiency with the following skillsets are desirable: basic knowledge of communications and network equipment (eg. router, switches), network protocols (eg. TCP/IP, SMTP, POP3, IMAP,HTTP/HTTPS,DNS), and load balancers (eg. AWS ELB, haproxy, nginx).
