Job Title: Senior Developer D&A - Beverages

The D&A Developer is responsible for managing and executing development projects from concept through completion, ensuring they are delivered efficiently, accurately, and in alignment with quality and business objectives. This role primarily focuses on beverage development, including the formulation, testing, optimization, and documentation of new and existing beverage products. The D&A Developer collaborates with cross-functional teams such as Research & Development, Quality Assurance, Regulatory, Procurement, and Production to ensure formulations meet customer requirements, regulatory standards, cost targets, and manufacturing capabilities. Additionally, the role involves maintaining detailed project documentation, supporting product trials and scale-ups, troubleshooting formulation challenges, and driving continuous improvement throughout the product development process.

Your Role:

  • Adhering to the approved budget and introducing suitable measures to counteract potential and actual deviations in consultation with the line manager.
  • Stimulating continuous standardization and optimization of processes and organizational structures and implementing corresponding measures in consultation with the line manager.
  • Ensuring an optimum exchange of information within the division and with the interfaces.
  • Documenting efficient and effective processes in the company's internal IT systems.
  • Developing new recipes and production processes and applying them as part of innovation projects (ItM) as a co-project owner in cooperation with the Product Manager of the respective business unit.
  • Developing new recipes and production processes and implementing new raw materials as part of B2B customer projects (LtO) and, if required, B2C customer projects as the co-project owner in collaboration with the respective Technical Project Manager.
  • Implementing guidelines on the execution and initiation of a diverse range of tests concerning the shelf life of and change in raw materials and B2B and B2C products in collaboration with Quality and Product Science.
  • Implementing the newly developed or optimized technological processes and process methods.
  • Specifying criteria for the analysis of customer and reference products.
  • Developing new raw materials and adapting existing recipes from the point of view of quality and costs.
  • Compiling application recommendations for new raw materials in application products.
  • Ordering new raw materials by submitting a product request to Sourcing and specifying criteria for the analysis of the new raw materials.
  • Creating and maintaining recipes in SAP.
  • Maintaining product-specific substance data in SAP.
  • Providing support in the optimization of the recipe portfolio in terms of cost structure, resource use, and quality in collaboration with Recipe Management.
  • Ensuring the correct and punctual execution of laboratory mixtures and the creation of product samples.
  • Tasting developed products.
  • Collaborating with technical project managers and Sales (discussing briefings, clarifying questions)
  • Coordinating customer visits and workshops taking place and conducting them independently in focus projects.
  • Evaluating and conducting measures assigned by Quality and corrective action.
  • Discussing with and supporting the Technical Account Manager on customer-specific circumstances, recipe formulation, and filling technology.
  • Implementing in-house and statutory specifications and guidelines on hygiene, HACCP, food safety, occupational safety, and environmental protection.

Compensation: $115k-$125k

Travel

Your Profile:

  1. Bachelors degree in chemistry, food science, or other related field.

  2. SAP experience.

  3. 3-5 years' experience in food and / or beverage development.

  4. Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
