SYSTEMTEC is seeking a Senior Developer – Cloud for a hybrid opportunity for candidates in Columbia, SC. Candidate will lead the design, development, integration, and deployment of complex cloud-based applications while helping shape scalable, secure, and reliable technical solutions. The role will provide hands-on development leadership, architectural guidance, and mentorship while supporting modernization initiatives and ensuring solutions align with enterprise technology standards.
Required Qualifications of the Senior Developer – Cloud:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- 8+ years of application development, systems testing, or closely related IT experience.
- Strong full-stack development experience within Java/Java EE environments, including Spring Framework, JPA, and modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with AWS or another major cloud platform, including cloud application development, deployment, and modernization projects.
- Experience with cloud migration strategies such as lift-and-shift and re-platforming.
- Demonstrated ability to design and develop highly available, resilient, and fault-tolerant solutions using cloud architecture best practices.
- Experience with CI/CD, DevSecOps, Infrastructure as Code, automated deployment, and modern software development practices.
- Strong understanding of cloud security, identity and access management, certificate management, mTLS, secure coding, and applicable compliance requirements.
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to provide technical leadership on complex projects.
Preferred Skills/Experience of the Senior Developer – Cloud:
- Experience with AWS services including EC2, Lambda, RDS, Aurora, S3, VPC, IAM, EKS/ECS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and Secrets Manager.
- Experience with Terraform, ARM Templates, or CloudFormation for Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, Azure DevOps, SonarQube, Snyk, or comparable CI/CD and DevSecOps technologies.
- Experience with Splunk, CloudWatch, X-Ray, or similar tools for centralized logging, monitoring, and application observability.
- Knowledge of NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, HIPAA, or other security and compliance frameworks.
- Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility requirements and WCAG standards.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/Fargate, or other containerization and orchestration technologies.
- Knowledge of serverless application architectures and cloud-native security practices.
- Cloud-related professional certifications.
- Experience supporting Medicare or other healthcare technology environments.
Responsibilities of the Senior Developer – Cloud:
- Lead the architecture, design, coding, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support of complex cloud-based applications and integration solutions.
- Develop and integrate full-stack applications using Java/Java EE, Spring, JPA, JavaScript frameworks, APIs, and cloud-native technologies.
- Design and implement scalable, highly available, resilient, and secure solutions while partnering with cloud architects and technical stakeholders.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code solutions while incorporating automated testing, security scanning, monitoring, and deployment controls.
- Analyze complex business and technical requirements, provide architectural and development recommendations, and ensure solutions comply with established technology standards.
- Serve as a technical leader and mentor by guiding development teams, establishing coding practices, evaluating technology options, troubleshooting complex issues, and supporting successful delivery of major projects.
