    Job Description
    We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer / Senior Designer with strong expertise in CREO-based design, modeling, and detailing for complex mechanical components and assemblies. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in product development, DFMA principles, and Caterpillar-specific tools and systems. This role requires deep mechanical design competency, strong attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.

    Responsibilities

    • Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using CREO with strong 3D modeling and detailed drawing skills.
    • Apply Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA) principles to ensure cost-effective, robust, and efficient product designs.
    • Work with Caterpillar engineering processes and tools, including Teamcenter, SDP, and modules such as Fluid Lines, Electric Lines, and Sheet Metal.
    • Produce high-quality engineering documentation, including drawings, BOMs, and design release packages.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and systems engineering to validate designs and support production readiness.
    • Review design requirements, resolve engineering issues, and support continuous improvements in design processes.
    • Ensure adherence to customer specifications, engineering standards, and safety requirements.
    • Support design reviews, tolerance analysis, and feasibility assessments.
    • Required Qualifications
    • Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Design degree required.
    • 7-12 years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
    • Strong proficiency in CREO for 3D modeling, surfacing, detailing, and assembly creation.
    • Experience with Caterpillar tools and systems (preferred), including:
      • o Teamcenter
      • o SDP tools (Fluid Lines, Electric Lines, Sheet Metal)
    • Solid understanding of DFMA principles and engineering design best practices.
    • Experience in sheet-metal design, routing, or complex mechanical systems is highly desirable.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
