    This position will have responsibility for all delivery and fleet-related operations within Texas. The ideal candidate can be located in any of our TX locations (Dallas/Irving & San Antonio) and must be willing to travel to each site or cross-dock.

    Duties

    • Proven expertise in leading an organization's logistics operations ensuring efficient, cost-effective, and safe movement of goods throughout the state.

    • Oversight of 150+ company-owned CDL and non-CDL vehicles across the state of Texas combined with a delivery team in excess of 125 personnel.

    • Develop and implement transportation strategies, best practices and procedures to enhance performance and align with business objectives.

    • Responsible for capital and financial planning and execution, takes ownership of the Delivery P&L.

    • Maintains relationships with 3rd party repair and maintenance vendors and approval of all repairs.

    • Ensures compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) and local regulations at all times, maintaining class-leading safety standards.

    • Monitor KPI's and develop new ones as necessary such as costs, service metrics, and safety measurements, implementing improvements as needed.

    • Would lead group of transportation leaders who oversee specific territories within the state.

    • Mentor, train and manage transportation professionals, supervisors, and administrative personnel on a daily basis, developing into a high performance team.

    • Provide general guidelines and parameters for staff functioning within the leadership group with measurable expectations.

    • Ensures all equipment is properly maintained in accordance with Johnson Brothers/DOT/FMCSA vehicle maintenance expectations .

    • Productivity initiatives (PI) to drive financial and operational improvements.

    • Partners closely with the Director of Operations as well as Corporate Routing and Fleet functions to drive continuous improvement in efficiency.

    • Proven experience with electronic driver qualification management as well as fleet safety & ELD software such as Samsara or similar.

    • Drives company culture & engagement within the transportation department as well interdepartmental relationships.

    Qualifications:

    • 10+ years relevant experience in Transportation Management.

    • Proven ability to analyze operational data and build KPI scorecard insights to drive continuous improvement.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; clear, effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.

    • High attention to detail, ability to thrive under deadlines and work in a team environment, while also delivering independent results.

    • Demonstrated ability to review issues and provide recommendations for resolution.

    • Strong prioritization skills, multi-tasking skills and works with a sense or urgency.

    • Intermediate MS Office Suite skills.

    Pay: DOE
