We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Developer for a temporary engagement supporting a critical legacy system modernization initiative. This role will focus on analyzing existing database architecture, translating complex business logic into scalable solutions, and designing high-performance, secure, and auditable data structures.
The ideal candidate brings deep SQL Server expertise, strong data modeling capabilities, and experience modernizing complex database environments.
Analyze legacy database architecture, existing data models, and complex business logic.
Partner with business stakeholders and product owners to translate requirements into scalable database solutions.
Design and develop data models, schemas, tables, and other database objects.
Develop, optimize, and maintain complex stored procedures (SPROCs).
Improve database performance, data integrity, scalability, and auditability.
Support data migration, ETL, integration, and transformation activities.
Implement appropriate data governance, security, and control standards.
Refine database structures as business and technical requirements evolve.
Provide guidance on database development and data modeling best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment using Jira and Confluence.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
8–10+ years of experience in SQL Server development, database engineering/DBA, and data modeling within large-scale environments.
Advanced SQL Server development expertise.
Strong experience designing and optimizing complex stored procedures.
Hands-on experience with data migration, ETL processes, and integration tools such as SSIS.
Strong background in data analysis, data quality, and relational data modeling.
Experience with SQL database testing and automation.
Demonstrated ability to design high-performance, scalable, and auditable database solutions.
Experience implementing database security, data controls, and governance standards.
Experience with reporting and visualization technologies such as SSRS or Tableau.
Exposure to modern cloud data platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks.
Familiarity with Microsoft technologies including .NET, C#, ASP.NET, and Web API.
Experience working within DevSecOps environments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, and the ability to operate effectively in fast-paced Agile environments. Candidates should be highly organized, comfortable navigating complex legacy systems, and capable of independently driving database modernization efforts.
