Contract: September 1, 2026, through August 31, 2027(Extension Possible)
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (State holidays observed)
 
Are you an experienced Database Administrator looking to work on enterprise level cloud initiatives? We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator III (SR. DBA) to support large scale database environments, cloud migrations, and high availability systems within an Agile development environment. This is an excellent opportunity to work with modern technologies including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Azure, AWS, and enterprise Java applications.
 
What You'll Do
As a Senior DBA, you will play a key role in designing, administering, optimizing, and securing mission critical database environments. Responsibilities include:
  • Administer Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases in enterprise environments.
  • Design, implement, and maintain logical and physical database models.
  • Migrate data from Oracle databases to Azure SQL environments.
  • Convert Oracle Stored Procedures and Functions into Azure SQL.
  • Perform database performance tuning, indexing, optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Monitor database health and implement proactive performance monitoring solutions.
  • Support database installations, upgrades, patching, backups, recovery, and disaster recovery.
  • Implement database security, user management, encryption, and compliance best practices.
  • Maintain high availability, clustering, replication, and load balancing environments.
  • Work closely with software development teams supporting Java based applications hosted in Azure and AWS.
  • Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies and collaborate across technical teams.
  • Create technical and functional documentation supporting database solutions.
 
DBA Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of database administration experience.
  • 8+ years working with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server or comparable relational databases.
  • 8+ years of relational database administration experience.
  • Strong expertise in database design, performance tuning, indexing, and optimization.
  • Experience designing enterprise applications and services.
  • Experience creating technical and functional design documentation.
  • Experience working within Agile Scrum software development environments.
  • Experience supporting multi-tier applications, SOA, Microservices, or similar architectures.
 
DBA Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting large scale, high availability database environments.
  • Experience with disaster recovery planning and implementation.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure.
  • ETL experience loading data into Azure SQL.
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
  • Java/J2EE development experience.
  • Microsoft Azure Certification.
  • DBA Associate Certification.
