Job Description:

The Client is seeking an experienced Database Administrator 2 to provide database administration, data warehouse management, and database development support. The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise database systems while ensuring data integrity, performance, security, and availability.

The Database Administrator will support database architecture, logical and physical data modeling, data warehouse development, data migration, ETL processes, and reporting solutions. The role will involve analyzing business requirements, developing database structures, creating data models, implementing database enhancements, and supporting application delivery through database access tools.

The candidate will monitor database performance, conduct performance tuning, develop backup and recovery procedures, implement database security standards, and assist with disaster recovery planning. The role requires experience with enterprise database technologies such as Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, or similar platforms, along with data warehousing concepts including Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, normalized data models, and data marts.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, IBM WebSphere DataStage, or similar technologies, as well as analytical and reporting platforms including Business Objects, Cognos, Hyperion, MicroStrategy, or Power BI. The candidate will collaborate with technical teams, business users, developers, and analysts to ensure effective database solutions and reporting capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain enterprise database systems and data warehouse environments.
• Perform logical and physical data modeling, database design, and data structure optimization.
• Develop and maintain data marts, data warehouses, and reporting databases.
• Support data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes using GUI-based ETL tools.
• Create and maintain data dictionaries, database standards, and documentation.
• Monitor database performance and perform tuning activities to improve efficiency.
• Develop database backup, recovery, and security procedures.
• Support database installation, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
• Analyze user requirements and provide technical solutions for database-related needs.
• Develop and support reporting solutions using Business Intelligence and analytics tools.
• Perform benchmarking and threshold testing to evaluate database performance.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for database issues.
• Ensure database administration interfaces and reporting solutions align with accessibility standards.

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of experience with database management systems and data warehouse environments.
• Strong experience with database design, implementation, maintenance, and performance tuning.
• Experience developing and supporting data warehouses, data marts, and reporting solutions.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and enterprise database technologies (Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, or similar).
• Experience with data modeling techniques including Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, and normalized data models.
• Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, IBM WebSphere DataStage, or similar.
• Experience with Business Intelligence and reporting tools such as Business Objects, Cognos, Hyperion, MicroStrategy, or Power BI.
• Experience supporting database security, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Oracle Database administration experience.
• Power BI report development experience.
• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise data environments.
