The analyst will serve as an internal consultant and subject-matter expert, working closely with stakeholders across the City to provide guidance, analysis, and recommendations.Job DescriptionPosition SummaryThe analyst will manage and analyze data to effectively problem-solve, communicating complex information clearly and accurately to Procurement staff and City leadership to provide insights and evaluate performance. They will translate those insights into actionable strategies by leading and collaborating on various improvement projects. The analyst will also support the department by evaluating legislative and regulatory policies impacting Procurement, determining the impacts of potential policy changes, and helping to implement operational changes as needed.This role requires strong initiative, adaptability, and ability to deal with complicated operational and financial challenges. The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of procurement systems and processes, data management best practices, and demonstrable analytical and project management skills.Essential FunctionsOwn Procurement's business process data; serve as a subject-matter expert for systems and processes.Work across teams to establish strong data management practices to improve the ability to use data to manage performance. This may include suggesting new systems or protocols, training staff, and implementation of new internal policies.Responsible for a variety of recurring and ad hoc reporting and effectively tailoring the communication to the audience.Support and manage projects and working groups related to process improvements, contracting and procurement, and other operational priorities.
