Standard Job Description

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be an instrumental member of the Data & AI Enablement organization supporting LM Space Systems to develop and implement data-driven solutions to deliver outstanding business results. This Senior Data Engineer position will support the 1LMX business transformation effort and is a great opportunity for someone who is interested working in a fast-paced organization where the latest technologies will be developed and applied.

The work location for this position is virtual with limited travel to support business rhythms.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Exhibit a degree of ingenuity and proactiveness when collecting, processing, documenting, and making data and analytics available to business users, data consumers, and downstream applications and interfaces
• Work through all stages of data pipeline to discover, analyze, model, digest, clean, curate, secure, aggregate, govern, and catalog structured and unstructured data
• Create optimized Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL), SQL, and data replication processes to load database tables and create views across disparate data sources for business needs
• Partner with Data Architects, DevOps teams, Application Teams, Data Governance, and downstream consumers to analyze, implement, and de-risk business requirements to develop supporting reports, visualizations, and data pipelines
• Develop and implement data models to support requirements and design

Basic Qualifications

• Advanced SQL skills including complex data join analysis and execution plan debugging
• Advanced Tibco, SAP HANA, ETL (SAP Data Services) skills and building CI/CD version-control data pipelines
• Advanced skills in Visual Studio Code, GitLab, Python and working with Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Open Shift)
• Experience developing visualizations and reports in Tableau and SAP Business Objects
• Excellent problem-solving, stakeholder communication, and the ability to translate cross-functional business requirements into technical solutions
• Experience working on a virtual Agile team

Desired Skills

• Experience with IBM CP4D, Databricks
• Experience with Nifi data replications
• Experience with using AI and LLMs in data solutions
• Knowledge of API development
• Proficiency in finance, engineering, HR, manufacturing, or operations data
• Experience with data storage (DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) and on-prem platforms
• Experience using Cameo to create data models and connectivity diagrams
• Knowledgable in Data Architecture and Ontology concepts
• Experience with Aerospace & Defence business applications, processes, and data sources

Pay Information

GeoZone Definition: GeoZones are geographic groupings created by Lockheed Martin to align compensation ranges with regional labor markets and cost-of-labor differences across the United States. Locations are assigned a Geo Zone based on the primary work location of the role.

• Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 1): $106600.00 - $198000.00

• Includes metropolitan areas such as Sunnyvale CA; Pal Alto, CA; New York City metropolitan area; Newark, New Jersey; etc.

• Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 2): $95900.00 - $178100.00

• Includes metropolitan areas such as Denver, CO; King of Prussia, PA; Stratford, CT; Moorestown, NJ; etc.

• Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 3): $85300.00 - $158300.00

• Includes metropolitan areas such as Dallas-Fort Worth, TX; Orlando, FL; Grand Prairie, TX; Marietta, GA; etc.

• Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 4): $76700.00 - $142500.00

• Includes metropolitan areas such as Camden, AR; Lexington, KY; Lufkin, TX; etc.
