Job Summary

In this contingent resource assignment, you will participate in moderately complex Software Engineering initiatives supporting Home Lending Data & Insights. This hands-on role will build, enhance, and support enterprise data products used by mortgage business consumers.

The Senior Data Engineer will develop scalable batch and near-real-time pipelines, consolidate data from multiple mortgage-related repositories, and transform raw information into trusted, governed data assets. The role also supports modernization efforts that migrate legacy data platforms and Ab Initio processing patterns into cloud-oriented Spark and SQL solutions.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

ETL Development and Data Integration

  • Build and maintain scalable batch and near-real-time data pipelines

  • Develop complex ETL solutions using:

  • Ab Initio

  • Python

  • PySpark

  • SQL

  • PL/SQL

  • Build complex Ab Initio graphs and parameter sets

  • Tune ETL processes for performance and reliability

  • Integrate, cleanse, normalize, and transform data from multiple mortgage systems

  • Develop reusable code and technical components

  • Debug data-processing and production issues

SQL, PL/SQL and Database Engineering

  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries
  • Develop and maintain PL/SQL routines, procedures, and related database logic
  • Work with Oracle, Teradata, and BigQuery environments
  • Perform data validation, reconciliation, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
  • Support enterprise-scale relational data processing

Cloud Modernization

  • Support migration of legacy platforms to Google Cloud

  • Develop and modernize data workloads using cloud-native patterns

  • Work with GCP services, including:

  • BigQuery

  • Dataplex

  • Cloud-based orchestration capabilities

  • Apply GCP operational practices for IAM, service accounts, monitoring, quotas, and cost controls

Data Quality and Governance

  • Build data-quality checks and controls

  • Support profiling, classification, metadata, stewardship, and lineage activities

  • Collaborate on Informatica Data Quality patterns, including:

  • Rules

  • Scorecards

  • Exception workflows

  • Ensure data assets are accurate, reliable, and appropriately governed

CI/CD and Deployment

  • Build, schedule, orchestrate, and deploy data solutions through enterprise pipelines

  • Use:

  • Git-based workflows

  • Jenkins

  • Harness

  • uDeploy

  • Participate in code reviews and automated testing practices

  • Support release, deployment, and environment-management activities

Production Support

  • Monitor data pipelines and production workloads
  • Support SLAs, incident resolution, and root-cause analysis
  • Optimize performance, reliability, and operational stability
  • Troubleshoot Unix-based processing and data integration issues
  • Participate in operational excellence initiatives

Collaboration

  • Partner with:

  • Product Owners

  • Architects

  • Data Engineers

  • Technology Teams

  • Mortgage Business Stakeholders

  • Review technical designs and convert blueprints into maintainable code

  • Coordinate across three Scrum teams, including U.S. and India-based teams

  • Clearly document technical approaches and implementation decisions
