Role Overview
Seeking a
Senior Data Architect to lead the modernization of Wawa's enterprise dimensional data warehouse and analytics environment. The role is heavily focused on
Snowflake, Python, Kimball/star-schema dimensional modeling, certified data products, and enterprise analytics architecture.
Key Responsibilities- Lead redesign and modernization of enterprise dimensional data warehouses using Kimball/star schema
- Define standards for dimensional modeling, semantic consistency, certified datasets, and reporting structures
- Develop conceptual, logical, and physical enterprise data models
- Architect scalable Snowflake data and transformation solutions
- Establish Python-based data engineering standards and reusable patterns
- Design curated/certified datasets supporting executive dashboards, operational reporting, and self-service BI
- Align KPI definitions, reporting logic, and semantic models across the organization
- Drive data governance, lineage, quality, and consistency
- Provide architecture leadership and mentorship to data engineers/modelers
- Lead modernization roadmaps and improve scalability across the analytics ecosystem
Required Qualifications- 8+ years of enterprise data architecture, analytics engineering, or data warehousing experience
- MUST HAVE: Strong Snowflake expertise
- MUST HAVE: Advanced Python development
- MUST HAVE: Deep Kimball/star-schema dimensional modeling experience
- MUST HAVE: Enterprise dashboarding and certified data product experience
- Strong SQL development and optimization
- Experience designing curated reporting layers and semantic models
- Experience supporting Tableau, Power BI, or similar enterprise BI platforms
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
Preferred- AWS cloud experience
- Databricks or distributed processing frameworks
- Experience modernizing large enterprise analytics and reporting environments
